Cool socks. My son loves them for football
When it comes to football socks that combine classic style with performance-ready comfort, these black Adidas tube socks really stand out. Whether it’s for match day, training sessions, or just a kickabout in the park, they’ve quickly become a favourite in our house. I bought them for my six-year-old son, who wears a UK junior size 13, and overall we’ve been genuinely impressed.
The first thing that caught our attention was how cool they look. The deep black colour is sleek, sharp, and incredibly stylish. There’s something about black football socks that just makes a kit look complete and professional. The design is simple but bold, with the iconic Adidas branding giving them that unmistakable sporty edge. They don’t look basic or plain — they look purposeful. When my son puts them on with his kit, he genuinely feels like he’s ready for a proper match. That boost of confidence alone is worth a lot.
The colour is also very practical. Black doesn’t show grass stains or dirt easily, which is ideal for young players who slide, fall, and generally throw themselves into the game without worrying about staying clean. After several matches and training sessions, they still look smart and well-kept. Even after washing, the colour hasn’t faded, which shows the quality of the material.
Comfort-wise, these tube socks perform very well. The fabric feels soft but durable, and there’s a good amount of stretch in them. They slide on easily without being a struggle, which is important when you’re trying to get a child ready quickly before practice. Once on, they stay up nicely on the leg and don’t constantly roll down, which can be an issue with some cheaper football socks.
During play, they seem breathable and lightweight. My son has worn them for full training sessions and matches without any complaints about discomfort. The material appears to manage moisture well enough that he stays comfortable throughout the session. Compared to standard socks, these definitely feel more suited to sport and movement.
They also provide the right level of coverage over shin pads. As tube socks, they are designed to sit comfortably over grip socks or base layers, completing the football look while keeping shin guards secure. They stretch well over shin pads without feeling overly tight, and they help everything stay in place during running, quick turns, and sudden stops. That balance between stretch and support is important, especially for young players who are constantly on the move.
In terms of durability, they’ve held up really well so far. Football socks go through a lot — grass, mud, constant washing, and plenty of friction. Despite all of that, these still look in great condition. The stitching hasn’t come loose, there are no signs of thinning fabric, and they haven’t lost their shape. That gives me confidence that they’ll last the season rather than needing to be replaced quickly.
One small thing worth mentioning is the fit around the bottom of the tube for my son. As he is only six years old and wears a UK junior size 13, I did notice that they are a little loose around the lower part. It’s not excessively baggy, and it hasn’t caused any real problems, but there is a bit of extra room. Because they are tube socks worn over other socks, this isn’t a major issue, but it’s something to be aware of for younger or smaller players.
That said, it hasn’t affected his performance or comfort in any noticeable way. The slightly looser feel might actually be more comfortable for some children who don’t like very tight, compression-style socks. It also leaves a bit of room for growth, which is never a bad thing with kids’ football gear.
The length of the socks is excellent for pairing with shin pads. They easily cover shin guards and stay in place, helping everything feel secure and match-ready. Once his shin pads are on and the socks are pulled up properly, the overall look is smart and professional. They create that classic football appearance that kids love to copy from professional players.
From a style perspective, they really do elevate the whole kit. Black goes with virtually any team colour, making them extremely versatile. Whether worn with bright shirts, neutral kits, or even training gear, they always look good. They give off a clean, athletic vibe that feels modern and professional. My son definitely feels proud wearing them, which makes getting ready for football that much easier.
Another positive is how easy they are to care for. They wash well, dry reasonably quickly, and don’t seem to shrink or twist out of shape. After multiple washes, they still maintain their elasticity and structure. That reliability makes them feel like good value for money.
Overall, these black Adidas football tube socks tick almost every box. They look cool, the colour is strong and stylish, and they feel designed for real play rather than just appearance. They’re comfortable, breathable, and durable enough to handle energetic young footballers. The only minor downside is that they’re slightly loose around the lower part for my six-year-old son who wears size 13 junior, but even that hasn’t caused any real issues.
For parents looking for football tube socks that combine style and performance, these are a great choice. They offer that professional look kids love, with the comfort and durability needed for regular training and matches. Despite the small fit detail around the lower section, we’re very happy with them and would definitely buy them again. They’ve become a reliable part of my son’s football kit, and most importantly, he loves wearing them — which says everything.

Good value
Black / White
Sleeve sock seems to be solid enough, worn it once so far and held up well. It is a very snug fit if you have muscular or large calf muscles but otherwise no issues. Would recommend
